February in Gaming: Next-Gen Cyberpunk, PSVR2, or Financial Reports

February was in the name of flat-rate cooperation. After discussion with our long-term client from Central Europe, we have successfully increased the number of artists in our cooperation. Other than that, we are finalizing conditions for our cooperation with our new client from Germany. Moreover, we are finishing the creation of several 3D highly stylized outfits for our client from United Kingdom. We are very grateful for all the trust our clients put in us and we are always open to new opportunities.

Top Five February News

Every month in the gaming industry is a rich one and February was no exception. Check out the five most interesting down below!

Activision Blizzard released a financial report, stating that their revenue for the last fiscal year was whopping 8,8 billion dollars – about 9% more than the last year. Despite these numbers, revenue from console games dropped by 31%, especially because of the sales of Call of Duty: Vanguard.

CD Projekt RED finally launched a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series version of Cyberpunk 2077. The patch 1.5 brought Ray-Tracing, 4K resolution, and for Sony’s console full DualSense support. Great news is that the current owners of last-gen version get the new one for free. Time will tell whether the Polish company can redeem itself for the disastrous launch of the game.

Last year, Sony has announced that PlayStation VR2 is in the works. In the last weeks, the Japanese company finally showed the final design of its new product that matches the one of PlayStation 5. The time will tell whether the second iteration will be more successful than the first one, which sold over 5 million units worldwide.

Nintendo is celebrating another success with its newest console – Nintendo Switch. It has shipped over 103.54 million units worldwide, outselling Nintendo Wii and becoming the company’s highest selling home console ever. With these numbers in mind, Nintendo has revised its full-year forecast, with increases of 3,1% for sales and 7,7% for operating profit.

Ubisoft’s latest financial report claims that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has earned over 1 billion dollars, making it the company’s highest-grossing title to date. It is clear that the number will only be increasing, especially with the new DLC Dawn of Ragnarok coming out during the first half of March.
