August was yet another very productive month for videogames. Below, we have chosen five pieces of news we regard the most interesting.

Sony has announced the delay of Horizon Forbidden West, officially confirming the latest rumours. The new release date is set to February 18, 2022, and the game will release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Activision Blizzard has officially announced Call of Duty: Vanguard which is being developed by Sledghammer Games, the authors of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Call of Duty: WWII. The game arrives on November 5, 2021.

Kotaku has informed the gaming world that Rockstar Games are preparing remasters of three classic Grand Theft Auto Games – GTA III, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas. According to Kotaku, it should release later this year.

343 Industries has finally revealed the release date of Halo Infinite. It got delayed last year and is arriving on December 8, 2021 for Xbox consoles and PC.

Electronic Arts held a special presentation of the Dead Space Remake, showing the very first gameplay of the Alpha build. The remake will be very much the same as the original, with a few gameplay changes.

All the time there is something interesting going on in the gaming industry and in this section, we look at numbers. The chart below shows the most popular reasons for playing video games in the United States as of February 2021, with the most popular one being to simply unwind, relax, and decompress.

Another eye-catching chart looks into the top grossing iPhone games that are ranked by the daily revenue in the United States as of March 2021. By a large margin, Roblox took the first place, followed by Candy Crush Saga, and Coin Master.

This time though, Jason Schreier wrote something the Game of Thrones community felt. “Ah so this is why Elden Ring is actually coming out,” said Schreier regarding the information that George R. R. Martin isn’t writing the in-game text of Elden Ring.

Number of The Month

Nintendo Switch released more than four years ago, and it is no secret that Nintendo is having a huge success with this hybrid of a console. In August, the Japanese company announced that Nintendo Switch reached over 89,04 million units sold, which is quite an impressive number.
