The game is in 2D where the player controls one of three characters using a keyboard and a mouse. Diablo differs from other games mainly because the game content is generated randomly. Like that its developers made the game long to play. Random generation is in levels as well as in placement of enemies and objects.
.
Blizzard introduced Battle.net to the developers and encouraged them to implement it into the game. It is a chat supporting program which allows starting a chat and add more people to the chat. Even though the Diablo developer was aware of the fact that multiplayer would add extra work load, he also realised that it would be useful in the long-run. So a lot of changes had to be made and a lot of finished things had to be completely re-done but it was worth it.
.
At that time the game offered exceptional graphics and sound. Music and backing sounds were composed by Matt Uelmen. The dark atmosphere was reached thanks to acoustic guitar as well as synthetisors. Other music for gaming industry by Uelmen: Torchlight, World of Warcraft, StarCity or Justice League Task Force.
