October in Gaming Industry: Alan Wake, GTA III Remastered Trilogy, or Delay of Anticipated Games

Gaming industry is a very rich one, with dozens of news and announcement every month. In this section, we prepared five most interesting ones from October.

Ubisoft has delayed two anticipated games – The Division Heartland and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake. Previously planned to release during the current fiscal year, the games are now scheduled for the next one, ending at the end of March 2023.

Xbox consoles have helped Microsoft achieve a record revenue of 45,3 billion dollars. In the last quarter, the Xbox division made a 3,6-billion-dollar profit, which is about 16 % more than last year.

After more than 11 years, Remedy has released a remastered version of Alan Wake, a third-person psychological horror that originally came out for Xbox 360 and PC only. Take a look at the launch trailer of the new version that arrived to both PlayStation and Xbox consoles on October 5.

Finnish gaming studio Housemarque has released a long-anticipated update for its rogue-lite action game Returnal. It added a Suspend Cycle feature, allowing you to pause the game and continue your run later.

Rockstar Games has announced a Grand Theft Auto’s remastered trilogy, featuring Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The Definitive Edition will include upgraded graphics or smoother textures and is coming on November 11.

PlayStation Vita was released in 2011, but Sony has already forgotten about it. Who has not, though, is Jeff Grubb, who referenced Sony’s handheld in his tweet “Vita means life,” which he wrote regarding Shuhei Yoshida playing Horizon Zero Dawn on Valve’s upcoming handheld Steam Deck.

Number of The Month

Sony Interactive Entertainment released PlayStation 5 around a year ago, with sales getting higher and higher every month. Despite Sony not being able to deliver as many consoles as the customers would like, as of September 2021, they managed to sell more than 13,4 million consoles.
